The Sixth Doctor is a major character in Season 21 and the main protagonist of Seasons 22 and 23 of Doctor Who. He is portrayed by Colin Baker. The Sixth Doctor regenerated from the Fifth Doctor after he gave Peri Brown the only remaining antidote to the spectrox poisoning they both were suffering and allowed himself to perish from it, resulting in his regeneration into the Sixth Doctor. At first, the Sixth Doctor was incredibly incorrigible as a result of his regeneration sickness, acting aloof towards Peri and occasionally lashing out, as well as displaying tendencies that were very unlike the Doctor's previous personality, such as cowardliness. One of his early adventures saw the Doctor and Peri track down a signal on 1985 Earth, which led to him encountering the Cybermen once more. The Doctor and the TARDIS were commandeered by the Cybermen, and the Doctor found Lytton, a mercenary who worked for the Daleks was the one to set up the signal. On Telos, the Doctor encountered the Cryons, and discovered that the Cybermen were scheming to alter history by destroying Earth before Mondas would be destroyed, angrily realising that the Time Lords had manipulated him into doing their bidding. The Doctor and Peri aided the Cryons in overthrowing the Cybermen, but discovered that Lytton had been working for the Cryons.

The Fifth Doctor underwent his regeneration into the Sixth Doctor within the control room of his TARDIS as a result of spectrox toxaemia he had contracted on Androzani Minor. (TV: The Caves of Androzani [+]Robert Holmes, Doctor Who season 21 (BBC1, 1984).) While living on Gallifrey, there was a rumour that the First Doctor was able to glimpse his first seven regenerations during a game of Eighth Man Bound.Mawdryn attempted to force the Doctor to use up his eight remaining regenerations to end his follower's cycle of perpetual rebirth, but this was rendered unnecessary when Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart made physical contact with his younger self and a discharge of temporal energy was released that allowed Mawdryn and his followers to die. When the Doctor was paralysed from the waist down after a spaceship crash, he expressed concern that he would regenerate if he passed out while being transported, but he made it back to the TARDIS without regenerating, and was able to find healing nanites that could repair his back. The Doctor first inadvertently discovered his regeneration was going to occur sooner than expected when he encountered a version of Peri who considered his successor to be "her" Doctor, despite the Sixth Doctor's attempt to prevent this. The Fifth Doctor was left in the knowledge that his regeneration was going to occur while Peri travelled with him.

The Doctor enjoyed a lively and busy TARDIS, with numerous companions, many of whom shared the same view of the universe as she did.The Doctor's first companions were brother-sister duo Alec and Constance O'Conor from Pasadena whom she met in a post-regeneration daze, before confronting a past incarnation of the Master who continued to plague the trio throughout their travels, coming to a head when the two went home following a near traumatic experience with the Ringleader and the Doctor was forced to team with a past incarnation to fight three incarnations of the Master.Visiting the Racnoss Wars, the Doctor took Gallifreyan soldier Iriel onboard with her intentions being to take her straight back to Gallifrey, however, a few accidental detours pushed the duo into a bond that was ripped apart by Gallifrey's summons back home, but not before they joined with Leela to prevent her husband Radrell's plans to destroy the universe. After some time, the Doctor met Georgian girl Violet Blackwell and Athenian Epicurean Leo Darius-Alesandro, intending to resume normal travels, but chance encounters with resentful companion from the future James Liron, Daleks and Ice Warriors meant the trio eventually split up.

I see that he is very different from other incarnations, but I am struggling to see so far why he gets so much hate. Maybe I am more drawn to him because 12 is my favorite Doctor of what I have seen.If you have the chance, check out the Sixth Doctor adventures from Big Finish. Especially the ones where he travels with Evelyn Smythe. He is just as arrogant and pompous, but not quite as abrasive. He can be kind. Colin Baker really develops the character in a way he wasn't allowed to one TV.He's one of my favorites, but for a very different reason. I think he plays the a-hole, self-absorbed version of the Doctor very well. As the Doctor, I hate him. Which is how I know he is absolutely crushing it as an actor.

Sixth Doctor - Wikipedia

The Sixth Doctor is an incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. He is portrayed by Colin Baker. Although his televisual time on the series was comparatively brief and turbulent, Baker has continued as the Sixth Doctor in Big Finish's ... Within the series' narrative, the Doctor is a centuries-old alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels in time and space in the TARDIS, frequently with companions. At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor changes.Baker portrays the sixth such incarnation: an arrogant and flamboyant character in brightly coloured, mismatched clothes whose brash and often patronising personality set him apart from all his previous incarnations. Preceded in regeneration by the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison), he is followed by the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy). His appearance in the first of these was at the end of the final episode of The Caves of Androzani which featured the regeneration from the Fifth Doctor and thereafter in the following serial The Twin Dilemma, the end of that season. The Sixth Doctor's era was marked by the decision of the BBC controller Michael Grade to put the series on an 18-month "hiatus" between seasons 22 and 23, with only one new Doctor Who story, Slipback, made on radio during the hiatus, broadcast as 6 parts (at 10 minutes each) on BBC Radio 4 from 25 July to 8 August 1985, as part of a children's magazine show called Pirate Radio Four.Due to his decidedly short screen time, the Sixth Doctor appeared with only two companions, most notably the American college student Peri Brown (Nicola Bryant), who had travelled with his previous incarnation, before being briefly joined by Mel Bush (Bonnie Langford), a computer technician from his future who he had yet to actually meet during his trial.

파일:6th Doctor..jpg broadcast list regular appearance Classic Sea The sixth life of Doctor Who, the main character of Doctor Who . It is a doctor of misfortune that has fallen vertically because of the difficult personality and the strange clown outfit. Above all, the first episode, the twin dilemma, is evaluated as the worst from the first impression. In particular, the personality and atmosphere were 180 degrees different from the 4th Doctor, who was most loved by the public until the 10th Doctor came out, and the 5th Doctor, who succeeded in maintaining the popularity of the drama as a gentle and friendly handsome man, even though he was not as good as the 4th Doctor. In this situation, not only the production team but also the actor in charge, Colin Baker, received a lot of criticism, and the BBC is seriously considering ending Doctor Who due to plummeting viewership ratings . In the end, an unprecedented situation occurred in which the actor was fired before the regeneration scene could be filmed. However, Baker, who did not lose his love for the franchise, succeeded in being re-evaluated by focusing on the expanded worldview of Doctor Who through the Big Finish audio drama in the 2000s. In the audio drama, the Sixth Doctor meets Dr.
